Cognesense Acquires Varec, Expanding Its Platform Across Measurement, Monitoring & Protection for Specialized Sensing and Control Businesses

The addition of Varec brings together four trusted heritage brands—Shand & Jurs, L&J Technologies, Sonitus Systems and Varec—creating a unified platform with deep capabilities across engineered hardware, software intelligence and environmental sensing.

By combining Shand & Jurs’ proven tank protection systems, L&J Technologies’ precision level and temperature measurement, Varec’s advanced gauging and inventory automation software, and Sonitus Systems’ environmental monitoring technologies, Cognesense now offers an integrated suite of solutions for regulated industries including oil and gas, petrochemical, defense, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and wastewater.
